Mine warning??

Post by lucabu »

Hello,

I noticed enemy ships sometimes use Quirium Cascade Mine, often killing themselves and/or their friendly ships. I risk to get slammed too. :?

I noticed there's an acoustic warning for missiles (wich you can easily evade), but not for mines, wich are way more dangerous.

I added the poll, in case most people wants to get implemented acousting warning, I'll post the question in Suggestion forum.

P.S. AI needs to be improved in NPG ships to flee those mines...

Yep. I think this would be good. I assumed it would work like this in my Novella.

Cheers,

Drew.

I never saw a NPC launch a QCmine, and I assumed there would be a warning, so me too votes for: yes, good idea.

I've not been hit with one yet, but you're right, a warning would make sense. Though I wouldn't object if a scanner upgrade were required (could perhaps be bundled in with longer-range sensors).

Of course, if you panic, and flee into the wrong direction....

Definate YES, I recently got turned inside out when I was running through an Anarchy by the Big Blue Balls of BOOOM! I think a verbal warning would be very appropriate, e.g.: "Aaaarrrgh! Q-bomb launched! Women, children and Q-bomb warning systems first! Save yourselves, WE'RE GONNA DIE!", or maybe something less dramatic and understated. Either or.

It would be really nice to be able to reprogram the AIs to be more sensitive to mines too. Sometimes it's just far too easy to speed through a tight formation head on dropping a mine when passing the first red blip. I'd like to see some more enemies to survive such a drop.

One vote that it should be a piece of eqipment.

The assasins Guild OXP includes static minesweepers at various new locations, as a defence strategy!

However I do agree a different warning to "missile detected" for Qmines deployed against you would be helpful.

Halsis OXP gives very helpful audible warnings, but doesn't differentiate between missiles or Qmines.

something like "Enemy Qmine deployed" - with a warning siren would do

hi everyone
yes yes yes please,a warning would be most welcome.i have encountered a few of these mines and the only way i knew i was killed was some message saying that there was some damage to the witchspace drives or something.one time i had a few kills under my belt and a nice collection of freebies i had picked up from other kills etc and ...blam...dead!!!.so for now i tend to get less kills and make my way to the nearest space staion to save the game.Anyways im still totally enjoying the game and have told a few old friends about it to including my dad who seems to come over to my house to sneak a look and watch me play  thanks again everyone who made the oolite and oxps add on's.....cheers and happy hunting everyone.
