Questions help plz

Hi Guys, just found out about this game, and think its awesome after hunting for years to find something like elite.
My questions are though, is there something out there to stop your lasers from overheating?
How do you see your ship from the outside?
How do you see other ship shields and damage going down?

I'll be really greatful for anyones help.

You can't stop them overheating. If mil's heat up too fast for your combat style, try beam's.

How do you see your ship from the outside?

Press 'v'.

How do you see other ship shields and damage going down?

Watch their exhausts for flickering, and watch out for plasma fires boiling off. They also tend to turn and run as their shields go down.


Okay, those probably aren't exactly the answers you were hoping for. Managing laser heating is a part of the game, as is not knowing exactly how damaged another ship is. Sometimes I'm tempted to put End-Of-Level-Boss energy bars next to huge ships, but good sense always hauls me away from the keyboard in time.

Aegidian thx for getting back to me so fast. As i said before i was a big fan of elite about 20 years ago then frontier, great to see there is as call for this game.
