problems with the manifest.plist

Post by TureModder »

Hi everyone.
I recently downloaded the "contextual jukebox" expansion. I like the expansion, but I wanted to personalize the music with others that I liked myself. for example I wanted to put the blue Danube as a background in the space station screens. I opened the oxz and simply replaced the tracks, leaving the same name. now when I load oxz the game gives me this error:
Expansion-name does not have a valid manifest.plist and cannot be loaded.
Does anyone know why this error occurs even though I didn't touch the manifest but simply replaced some music tracks?
thank you in advice.

Do you have one (1), and only one, version of the OXP/Z where Oolite can find it?
You have one unpacked version - named .OXP - in the AddOns folder, or:
You have one compressed version - named .OXZ - either in the AddOns or the ManagedAddOns folder?
IOW, did you remember to remove the original download?

Did you alter it, re-zip it to an OXZ, then put it back in the ManagedAddOns folder? (Won't work because its file length won't agree with the manifest.)

The procedure is:
1. Download
2. Extract to AddOns, using x button in OXZ manager.
3. Delete original download.
4. Edit unpacked version, then rename it from .off to .oxp
5. If it refuses to load, edit or just delete manifest.plist.
6. Enjoy.
I thought the grey swan symbol was good, but when he said the new country's flag should be printed on "holographic" fabric, I began to doubt.

Thank you. this is exactly what I had done. but it was enough to create an oxz folder in AddOns and put the modified content inside without the manifest.
I don't know what OXZ manager is. then I take a look at it.
