Any one else catch this last night? I got some ok pictures but my friend that lives a little farther north sent me this picture.

Alas, our local light pollution clobbered it for me.

But I did see it some years ago in Durham, and it was truly magnificent. The castle with the aurora behind...

I'm lucky enough to live where there is very little of that.
I really hoped some of our friends here had at least caught a glimpse. I have only seen the intensity and colors like that once or twice before, but I do see it reasonably often.

Amazing photos!
I did have a quick look up at the sky but there was way too much light pollution, living next door to a work yard that's lit up like the superbowl in the evenings
