Here is a little package if you want to test the color saturation adjustment discussed in this topic. You will need to use it with the latest Windows nightly available from here. Unzip the executable to oolite.app and the two shaders to oolite.app/Resources/Shaders, then run.
In this test you can increase saturation in real time by pressing the Insert key and decrease it by pressing the Delete key. This is just for demonstration purposes, it is not my intention to occupy two more keys for something like this. Minimum color saturation is 0.0 (i.e. black and white image) and maximum is 5.0 (ridiculously oversaturated, worse than the saturation of electronics stores' demo TVs), standard default value is 1.0. You can see the current saturation by bringing up the FPS display and looking at the last line, right next to the TAF.
The test files can be downloaded from https://drive.google.com/file/d/17sinEK ... sp=sharing (updated)

Re: Color Saturation Test - Windows
That looks awesome! Is the saturation amount scriptable so it can be changed during game play? - eg ramp up the saturation level in whitchspace make it all lurid and weird looking - or when the players ships takes hull hits or something like that like the way modern games turn down the saturation a bit as a visual clue to the player that their Health points are getting low

No, not scriptable at this time, but these are some interesting ideas...Griff wrote: ↑Thu Mar 23, 2023 12:18 pmThat looks awesome!
