Trying to run the Archimedes Emulator for their own version of Elite and I downloaded the emulator from here....
http://arcem.sourceforge.net/
and downloaded the Arc-Elite game from here.....
http://www.elitehomepage.org/arc/index.htm
Before, I use that on the emulator, I have to get it to work, and I'm getting nothing. When ever I click on the installer icon, nothing happens.
Is thee easier and better way of getting this game to work without having access to the original game itself?

Re: Trying to Run the Archimedes Emulator
Knowing nothing about this, does that refer to ArcElite & it refer to the emulator? And might it help if you spelled out which operating system your magnificent machine of Machiavellian mysteries is using?Commander Mick wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 12:47 pmTrying to run the Archimedes Emulator for their own version of Elite and I downloaded the emulator from here....

Yes, it is. It's a Elite game that ran on the Archimedes Machine (Or Arc-Elite as it's otherwise known to me.) and this is the emulation....
I use Windows 10.

They also mention Cygwin and the Arc-emulator is supposed to build itself under Cygwin.
https://www.sourceware.org/cygwin/
But it just gets more complex.

This installation thing looks as though it is making your life miserable...Commander Mick wrote: ↑Thu Aug 26, 2021 4:12 pmThey also mention Cygwin and the Arc-emulator is supposed to build itself under Cygwin.

Re: Trying to Run the Archimedes Emulator
Didn't dabble with Cygwin in more than 2 years (switched to the "real thing" -- Linux), but what I can tell, it's not for regular users.
Unless one's in the at least "partially developer" camp, not much use out of it (not that it's not useful, I still have it available in my windows instances, but I'm also in that camp).
Also, definitely, the Mac crowd has no need for any Cygwin reference (should work natively, usually).
