Dr Vaccine - or how I learned to stop worrying and love the jab
Ten days after the jab, and I still feel normal - still human, still ugly! And apart from twenty-four hours of utter exhaustion, no side effects. I have no urge to swing from the chandelier, no urge to climb trees - no untoward effects whatsoever. Oh wait [................................] sorry about that, my wetware installed an update and had to reboot!

Having now had both my jabs, and with lockdown being lifted tomorrow (in England), I was looking forward to going out and getting drunk. Unfortunately, my favourite watering hole (going back decades) has had to close permanently. Damn!

Same here. Germany is not only unable to provide vaccines, we are not even able to decide how to behave until enough people have been immunised.
Regarding the favourite watering hole: I have not been there for years, but I really liked the 5 Lamps in Derby. Google Maps claims they are open now...

I'll refrain from having a rant about the EU and vaccines. Damn, I need a drink!

A drink is a good way to test for symptoms. If beers, ales, or whatever drinks taste as they should you have not caught a virus. Keep testing!

Relieved to say that Crux Inferius has been relatively untouched by The Virus, compared to the more populous spacelanes.

Damn it, Cholly - now I've gotta check. Having had no medication today, in preparation for the glorious twelfth, I'll allow myself a snifter.Cholmondely wrote: ↑Sun Apr 11, 2021 9:57 pmYou mean that you no longer remember what they should taste like?
Mmm... Berentzen sour apple schnapps tastes exactly how I remember it, and it's been almost a year. Test passed - cheers!

The UK's pub industry must really wonder what they've done to offend the fates. From today they're allowed to serve drinks outside, and it's snowing.

<nods> It ain't snowing here, but it's definitely too cold for sitting outside and enjoying a beer.
Pubs in England were already going out of business at an alarming rate. It's kinda tragic!
My favourite watering hole was one of the last in my town where live music was a constant.

Reasonably mild in London today and I saw a good few people sitting outside the pubs - nowhere near full capacity, in my opinion, but it was early afternoon, not evening.

A glorious spring day, wall-to-wall sunshine - but with a chilly easterly blowing, unfortunately.
Found a local pub with a beer garden, and thoroughly enjoyed a pint in the lee of a hedge.
