Cargo Scooping
Can anyone tell me how to use capture floating cargo? Or point out a previous thread on this subject?

You need to buy fuel scoops to scoop up cargo. Check out the Oolite wiki at http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Oolite_Main_Page (loads of useful info there), and specifically the page on Fuel Scoops.
It is generally inadvisable to eject over the target you just bombed.
