Testing, testing...

We seem to be back, although I'm currently unable to log-in as Admin. You got the same, Big D?

Same here, yes … trying to log on to admin brings up the "catchable fatal error" alert. Maybe just a matter of time?

<nods> Yes, hopefully. Giles was in earlier, so he's probably not finished yet.

Whew, after a 5 (!) days gap in posts (RSS browser here), I was looking to re-contribute to the tumbleweed thread when this popped up :)

... Maybe we'll have quotes with references now?! (one can only hope  )

Is this still happening?

Yes, I'm afraid so … the queue of spambots awaiting execution is growing longer. Apologies to all the bots concerned - your custom is important to us, and we will destroy you as soon as possible. :)

I have tried to contact The Master and Commander on that security issue; message in a bottle style. :P

It's possible to slap a ban on the bots, which muzzles them, but I'm still not able to delete them. So we currently have a queue of mute spambots just sitting there, held in a ghastly, grey, twilight limbo, all their Cyrillic blandishments unreleased … heartbreaking, in its own way. :(

I can disapprove their posts, but not ban them - my Moderator permissions are limited. Some forums I know don't delete them, they merely ban them, leaving the poor dears in the aforementioned ghastly, grey, twilight limbo for eternity - and of course, inflating the said forum's member count.
