trouble with "pets"

Post by Zorath »

Sooo... I thought I should pick up one of those cute pets...

Well... they have now eaten their wait through all my food.. and I have a lot more pets than I would like....

I know how to get rid of them... however my ship has some extra things that makes the pets not die...

SOooo.. how do I get rid of some of these guys ?

You mean the heatshield? Is it really impossible?

Last ditch resort: escape-pod, maybe... (Not 100% sure this will help, could be infested too...)

Well... yes.. I got a external heat shield... seemed like a good idea at the time.

I flew to a sun and hung around until I almost melted and they did not go away...

Could we maybe get a Pest control service ?

you could try to set a destination planet, go to a sun, get really, really hot, and then do a jump to another system, you'd be out in 10 seconds...

I found the heat shield HELPED since it slowed the heat-up rate. Therefore you could keep your ship in the toasty-and-warm regime for much longer. I got rid of a horrific trumble infestation thanks to the heat shield. It'd have been much harder without it.

No, they are there. I have not seen a trumble cannister since I had started to play the game, but then suddenly a few days ago they began to appear in the debris of destroyed pirate ships.

Heat shield? I've heard about them, but I've never seen them offered is it on a OXP or do I just have a ship that either can't have one or already has one (Python)?

It shows up in the ship equipment list at F5: External heat shilding.

I think I saw it before I had any OXP's installed, so it should be a part of the game. There's no entry for it in the wiki though..

It's only been recently introduced in the development release. If you're running 1.62 it wont be available.

You know when you get offered them (as opposed to scooping the buggers), if you turn it down do you ever get offered again?

Yes, they will be offered again. They seem to be stalking me with the cooing little things. :)
