Ahh... just looking at the cover art takes me back!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Has anyone ever heard of the "Tom Swift" series? I remember reading them at about 9 or 10 YO. Thought they were the bees knees in SiFi Space adventures.

Heard of them, but not read them … I do know that "Thomas A. Swift's Electric Rifle" is the origin of the word "taser", though!
