heh, nice pic! i've seen one of them come out the docking bay, and instantly explode. there were a few ships just come out - traders+ecorts - and the battle cruiser just appeared right outside the bay, right on top of the existing ships. boom - no cruiser, no ships either.

gave me a bit of a shock! damn thing nearly hit me

Obviously it's a bit dumb that these large ships are launching from, and attempting to dock at, space stations.

However these large ships have to get built somewhere. Maybe we should see some large space-dock places at high tech level planets where the large ships and carriers get built. They could be secondary stations - and potentially they could offer some special ship enhancements not generally available at main space stations, such as military shields, to suitably qualified pilots.

I could model a something along the lines of a dry dock, but someone else would have to texture it, and put lights on it and stuff. Maybe ship construction docks should be placed near asteroid fields, so that it's easier for them to get the materials they need to build ships. This could affect pirates of course.

This is an in-game screenshot, not some model I made up. The colours of the screenshot are off for some reason, so you might have dificulties recognizing the objects for what they are...

This is a clumping toghether of cargopods in a tractor-field, happened after a collision with a ship. In the background you see three GalCops racing to a trouble spot....

I am trying to make a Federatoin Starship from Star Trek into Oolite, but I can only do it if dry-docks or large docks exist. Please tell me so I can cnotinue/abort work.
