Now i present this Oodea (idea) as more of a Oodea-let, which may or may not amount to anything.
It may be impractical, may cause slow down, not have enough interest or re hash the whole multiplayer argument, that really isn't an argument, as m/p cannot be done. but anyway.
I pitched this in another post, a few months back, with nothing really mentioned.
when i tried to get on the chat page recently, i had no luck and really couldn't be bothered to trawl through the bb to find out why and how, so i figured, is there a nice little free chat engine thingy that could be lowjacked into displaying through an MFD to display in a window within Oolite?
Perhaps this might solve the whole chat room thing?

Re: Oolite messenger?
I have just posted about a Discord server for us Oolite-ians... Perhaps someone with Android or Windows programming knowledge could create an OXP using the clients?
The act of talking b*ll*cks whilst waving one's arms about wildly is referred to as testiculation.

An OXP alone is not enough for this. You must make a server application and run it on a public IP address to handle the incoming connections, like the debug console do it on localhost. Then set this IP in a similar oxp than [wiki]Debug OXP[/wiki]. In this way theoretically imaginable a basic messenger within the game for players run developer releases and your OXP.
