Not so much about Oolite, but about the BB

Post by SteveKing »

Hi guys,
I've been away for a bit over a month, so not disappeared. Whilst on hols, work rescinded my access to this forum (booo hiss), but inexplicably, my home laptop won't now open up Oolite BB beyond the index page.

Sorry if it's in the wrong location, perhaps this should be in Outworld. Anyone seen this sort of thing before, any ideas? The laptop's an old thing, but runs W7 ok. Seems to get to other BB's ok - FGE, ED, even Reddit. I don't expect so, but has the Oolite BB been altered in the last month? Do I need a particular video setting? I thought it might be a permissions thing with i'net settings, but can't find anything obvious.

Please can you have a think about it. I'm away for the weekend, but will be back on Sunday night.

I'll cross my fingers that I don't have to rebuild and it's a simple fix.

To the best of my knowledge, nothing has been altered in the forum workings.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

Arthur: OK. Leave this to me. I'm British. I know how to queue.
OR i could go with
Arthur Dent: I always said there was something fundamentally wrong with the universe.

Steve, with what I've read about redundancies at your employer, I'd say be thankful you still have a job and don't do anything that might get you into trouble.
In your heart, you know it's flat.

Nope the site is fine, though it does go gaga noo and agian.
But anything that is complicated will do, more things to go wrong.

You have time at work to play here?
Hope your not employed on anything important, like collecting rubbish. Or monitering nuclear power stations cooling systems.
LOOK OUT!!!

If you do not see "Press Space" more often than you want.. Your not trying!

 Yeah... um... as Wildblood says, probably not. Just found out that I've got to go back to FlyIn FlyOut again as well - major bummer.

Ok, nothing to do with the BB, perhaps to do with a graphics set-up that may have changed on my laptop? Anyone know whether the BB needs a given graphics driver or setting?

Nope, it should work on any browser/OS/GPU/settings.

OK, ta. Looks like a job for one of the IT gurus at the office. Problem is they very rarely have the time :(

As I've mentioned elsewhere, I wish I was a 'puter user, rather that someone who just uses one

Have you tried deleting cookies (or even refreshing them - Ctrl+F5)? An unlikely fix, but you never know.
