hello,
I installed oolite a couple of years ago and haven't really played it ( spent far too long on Elite ). Just now looked again, is V1.76.
There are a mass of .oxp folders in a folder called AddOns. I must have done something with them because I seem to have categorized them but I cannot seem to find any instructions how to install them or if they are installed by being in the AddOns folder. I am downloading V1.8 but via my phone so it is going to take the rest of the day.

Welcome, zem - if the OXPs are in the AddOns folder, then they will be installed (they should all end in the ![[EliteWiki]](/images/elitewikismall.png)

.oxp suffix). Oolite has changed a fair bit since 1.76, so you might find some OXPs no longer work correctly - you may possibly find updated versions on the Wiki.I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

Oolite now contain a built-in expansion manager which can download addons in the new OXZ form if the author made it. I suggest to check through this in-game list after new versions of your addons, then check if the rest has new versions in OXP form. Read more in the [wiki]OXP[/wiki] page.
