I just upgraded my ship to a caduceus Alpha. I put military laser on it. When I fire the laser, I get no streams. But I did kill something with the lasers. Same with pulse laser.
I mounted a Twin Plasma Cannon and I can see the blobs firing out.
Any ideas what's wrong?
Plus what are twin plasma cannons? They seem to be so slow.

Re: Caduceus Alpha - lasers
The gun view point on the Caduceus looks right down the barrel and so on a lot of occasions you don't see the laser. You can adjust the view point if you wish and you would see the laser as on other ships.
The plasma cannons are just a big waste of time. I have no idea why they are in the game at all other than they look funky.

Re: Caduceus Alpha - lasers
This comes down to a simple question:
When aiming a gun, do you look down the scope or at the end of the barrel in the hope of seeing a really cool muzzle flash?
The caddy is designed to forgo some of the pretty visual extras to give you a higher degree of accuracy at longer range. Technically you wouldn't see a laser weapon anyway as the most damaging ones are outside our visual range. I fully understand that this is not what your used too (although subsequently other designers have done away with pretty visuals for cold hard practicality). Seeing the laser due to the nature of perspective will make you less accurate at range.
I do not wish to sound condescending here. but I built her for accuracy. Everyone is entitled, nay encouraged, to play in a way that is pleasing. In which case Lone-wolf's suggestion should resolve your issue. But you will loose accuracy at distance. Swings and roundabouts I'm afraid.
Thank you for choosing Caduceus, for your interplanetary needs. The Shulth family wishes you many happy hours of death dealing:

Re: Caduceus Alpha - lasers
I fly a Caddy Gamma, the Gertrude. A few mods were done. Increase of top speed, 3 plasma cannons on the tail. Decreased pitch rate. Makes her less twitchy. Military lasers have cobolt blue colour. Clear as day every time, though no idea what the recipient sees. All my shooting is up close and very personal.
Wasn't cheap, speacialy the pos feedback twin drive units. And they are thirsty. Need the extra fuel tank just for the 7 jump. All in was about 150M Crs. Well worth it.
This game never gets old.

You won't see that flying around elite:dangerous that's for sure.
But yeah, when you make a ship you've got to let go. Give it to the community. That said I did know what I was doing when I designed it and it's not a bug it's a feature.
