Was that the real start of the project or the date when the first working piece of code was finished?

Depends! I prefer medjool, which I believe translates as unknown.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills

It is the best we have. Let someone come up with a better date.

BTW my feeling is that slight development is ongoinf, and expansion development is picking up. There is some perspective. It is one thing to start an open source project. I is quite another to accumulate enough power to have it going for 20+ years.
