No idea what could be causing this but every time I launch from a main station I get a distant view of the planet (so it more or less fits in the screen) then jumps back to cockpit.
No idea why, could it be one of the HUD related updates? It's the only thing I've changed I think

When you notice an issue like this, it is always a good idea to try to reproduce it without OXPs. Does it happen when you switch the game to strict mode?

Re: Long Range planet view on station launch
I think that's the Explorer's club OXP trying to take a screenshot of the planet. I could be mistaken but I believe it should only happen the first time you launch from any given Main Station.mossfoot wrote:No idea what could be causing this but every time I launch from a main station I get a distant view of the planet (so it more or less fits in the screen) then jumps back to cockpit.

takeSnapShot()
, for taking screenshots under script control, has been disabled in the current deployment version of Oolite.. Explorer's Club needs fixing, in this regard. (though I do believe the devs have some special OXP in mind to provide this functionality)Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

That's just a note thatDiziet Sma wrote:(though I do believe the devs have some special OXP in mind to provide this functionality)
takeSnapshot()
still works in the non-deployment releases recommended for OXP developers.- Diziet Sma
