Installer based on svn rev 380 now available

Hi,

I have just posted an installer based on r380 of the svn repository.

Changes I made:
  • Installer shows the readme file when it finishes installing files.
  • Changed the screenshot code so it saves and restores the current directory. This allows textures to be found after screenshots have been taken.
  • Changed the installer to create the Run_Oolite.bat file with fully qualified path names, which fixes the nested oolite-save directory problem.
I did once fly straight through a station while docking, but that is a known bug and doesn't happen very often.

dajt, I'm not a Windows user, but could you put up a notification @ berlios that you uploaded a new file? Not everyone visits the boards (shame on them) but subscrbe to berlios notifications...

The flying-through-a-station happened to me the other day on a Mac, so don’t worry about it being PC-only. :-/

Had no problem running with ooliteinstall-335 , but the subsequent updates keep crashing on my PC

I've recently upgraded my PC , as of now have a new windows xp installation (with service build 2) and though version 335 works for me , gameplay has gone all funny/ jerky . What a bummer , oolite is a cracking game .

Well , I removed the NVIDIA drivers that were installed as part of my new windows configuration and re-installed my older VGA drivers - with a positive result . Build 335 is working perfectly for me again :D . The later builds still don't work for me , but as build 335 works ok i'm well happy !

If and when you try the next installer, if it doesn't work please post the c:\program files\oolite\stderr.txt file as that might contain a clue as to what the problem is.

Hi David ,
I tried running OOliteInstall-380 once again , with a view to obtaining the error report . I'm no techie , so here's the report and I trust that you will interpret it much better than I possibly can !

regards ,
Chris

The only thing that looks a bit strange there is the 2nd last line. 800 x 578? If it is trying to create that in full screen mode things might go a bit strange.

Are you in full screen mode or windowed?

That's funny , because i'm running oolite 335 in full windows mode - it defaults to that of course . In fact when running oolite 335 , on selecting F2 key and then selecting 'windowed mode' , I have now discovered that the game effectively crashes + hangs - a window box appears with 'SDL app' in top left corner .

This is actually the error that occurs straight away , when I execute version oolite 380 . I simply cant get to the point of being able to select 'windowed' mode or 'full screen' option etc
