2 Weeks In!

Post by Commander Avago-Ero »

Wow! OOLITE...
To Whom this may concern.
Downloaded Oolite 2 weeks ago after searching around the w-w-w for modern version(s) of Elite. I used to play it on a BBC Model B way back and have never ever played a game so consuming. Until now. The makers of this game deserve applause for quite honestly a game I'd be happy to pay for. And the OXP's I've added (finally worked out how to do it today after many attempts) enhance the game so much but still keep that captivated (old) kids imagination firing.

I usually use my PC as a music DAW but Oolite now has a permanent place on my hard drive.

So Thanks To All Involved

Welcome aboard... yeah, that old Elite magic, eh? Nothing quite compares!

I reckon it's cool to play with vanilla Oolite for the first couple of weeks - I did exactly that.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

Welcome Commander Avago-Ero! :D

I also found Oolite when I was looking for an Elite remake.
Not too shabby eh?

Far from shabby Redspear. I like the way it feels loyal to the original but obviously faster slicker and more eye catching now (for obvious reasons, 8-bit 32k 2 modes alternately splitting screen... ah those were the days when a computer knew what it was) even in Vanilla. Leaving Lave and frantically trying to dodge aggression with no fuel to accelerate away just to make enough Cr to build enough profit for a lager cargo bay to make enough prophit to obtain a military laser to m....

And then the OXP's. All the ones I've tried just make it even better.

Also like reading the posts and ideas about expansions and the various fictional contributions (I remember 'The Dark Wheel')

There's some genuinely interesting stuff here and everybody seems keen to help out.

Any way 'couple more milk runs then off somewhere dodgy. Need another 100 kills to get to 'Dangerous'. Not that that's important of course. Mid 40's, Lovin' it.
Attitude Adjustment? I'm too old for an ASBO!
