UPS Courier OXP question

Post by iperich »

Hi, I installed the OXP, but I don't know how to get the missions, the wiki says that in multigovernment/+ type of planet it could be UPS Missions, but I don't know where can I search for them....

You don't contact them - they contact you. Especially to start with, they won't contact you very often - even later, you'll often go for weeks without hearing from them. (It took me quite a bit longer to see all the content in UPS than it did to get to Elite)

The first few missions are likely to be obtained in Communist or Democratic systems, though, so if you're hanging around an area of space with few of those systems, it may be time to move on.

Check the order of the governments: all except Feudal and Anarchy, but as cim said some better than others.

Then find a nearby planet with good government in the Oolite Interactive Map or in OOLiteInfo.

You'll start by being offered basic parcel deliveries; but once your reputation improves you'll be offered much more interesting missions. Try hanging around Communist and Democratic systems to start witn and you'll eventually be contacted.

So, if I understood well, I should look in "parcel deliveries", get a reputation in that kind of contracts, and then try in Communists and Democratic systems and eventually somebody will contact me?

No. UPS Courier missions "pop up", when docking, to offer a job to you.

The oxp is designed as a 'slow-starter'. Internally there are 5 engines that can generate missions. But, 4 stay silent until you have accepted a certain amount of document missions. Than the parcel deliveries kick in. And only after delivering a certain amount of parcels, the full scope of missions is offered. And most missions require to be clean to receive the offer.
