Colour for flash effect

Post by ZygoUgo »

Since Darksoul added his collection of colour images to the realm of nebulas, I have begun hand painting my set, it seems Oolite does a marvellous trick of still generating its own colours, but the colour of the images gets mixed in and comes through to differing degrees, a perfect mix of variation as it is!
However, I looked at the flash effect I created for Zygo's Cinematic and got very excited about adding colour to that, but much to my dismay, either the change of mode from greyscale to RGB or simply the addition of colour values sets the texture to a simple square. Alas, I could have this in my OXP..

Is it possible for said flash to pick up colour in the same manner as nebulas?
If the same is true for stars I could add some subtle lighting efffects around them too! 8)
