Recommended Free, Large file Host

Post by parazaine »

As the title suggests.....i'm looking for some advice on a free file-hosting site that is reliable and allows uploads of at least 1 gig files.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

For that, you'll need to use Google Docs, you can upload files up to 1GB each there, and make them available to whoever you like:

https://docs.google.com

It's where submersible hosts the 8 Povray Planets OXPs, which weigh in at around 0.5 GB each..
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Ok, thanks for the reply....i'm already using it but its limited to 5 gigs total (free) I may be able to get away with 5 gigs at a push but 10 would be better

There's Sky Drive too.

Edit: its Microsoft so you might not like them! :) Not sure about the file upload limits. My free account has up to 25 gb of space.

Edit2: files can be up to 2gb in size.

Ah, yes there was a limited time offer a couple of months ago. I think that has now finished. 7gb is quite a lot for free though!

I don't use much of my 25gb so I could host files for you if you want?

Just seen an email promoting Norton Zone. It's a free service with 5 gb of space, and unlimited (well to the space limit) file size.

It's not just about file-size - is there a monthly bandwidth limit? That's the main problem if you host large files.
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

No idea about bandwidth. On Sky Drive or Norton Zone there isn't much in the way of FAQs.
