[RELEASE] HoloConHUDv1.0
Fresh from the design board of 249th NRW R&D, the Holographic Console HUD is the latest in visual aid for navigation and dogfighting.
The HoloCon borrows heavily from AadHUDv0.7. The main difference is easy to see when you've sat down behind the stick. This HUD enhances incoming light to enable easier visual acquisition of targets. Central to this HUD is a polar grid intended to make course corrections more precise and instinctive. The grid also has the yaw, pitch, and roll indicators built in, serving as an additional aimpoint as well as aiding in the pilot's precision.
In addition, when the ship is in condition green, the ASC will superimpose over the polar grid, once again enabling more precise maneuvers. This is in addition to AadHUD's distance and ETA functions.
The design team advises users not to use SniperSight with this HUD, as the SniperSight's separate HUD will not include the polar grid or any other features of HoloCon.

Hmm.. some very cool concepts there.. well done.
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Thank ye kindly. Idea came from a modern-day cockpit HUD, and some credit could be given to the Steampunk HUD that's still floating around here somewhere...

How do you take your screen shots? Oolite has its own screen shot function. Just press '*' at any point, and a shot of the content of the Oolite window (and only that, so no desktop background, and no non-Oolite-related screen messages) will be saved to a directory "Oolite Screen Shots". I'm not sure where this resides in Windows, but it should be findable once you've taken your first screen shot.

After a while filing paperwork for new 249th members, the R&D team has gone back to the tech shop, this time creating the Holographic/Numeric HUD.
HoloNumHUD has three polar grids, for navigation and scanner precision in addition to the original center grid. It also has a separate fullscreen brightening layer, adjustable within numerichudv3.plist under the image = whiteRectangle.png heading.

HoloNumHUD is now v1.1; polar grid inverted for cosmetic purposes. At least it looks better to me... HoloConHUD will soon be upgrading as well.

HoloConHUDv1.1 is now practically identical to HoloNumHUD under the hood, with a separate brightening element in addition to a holographic highlight and polar grids for the scanner and crosshairs.
AadHUD0.7's basic switching script has been kept to preserve the superimposition of the ASC over the crosshairs while in condition green.

HoloNumHUDv1.2 is up. v1.2 introduces a zero height scanner, immediately displaying scanner contacts in relation to pitch and yaw; the original-style scanner is left in place to preserve distance and situational awareness.

new Huds look cool. I currently use the deepspace hud, but I would like to give these huds a try. Are they ready for download? If yes where, couldn´t find them so far....?
