Yes! We're at the Release Candidate stage!
To coincide with the Mac OS X release candidate, here is the Linux RC containing all of the updates (except OS X specific) that the 1.62 OS X pre-release contains.
Play testing so far is showing good results with this build; I had a good long game (including being jumped by fifteen squillion Eagle fighers) and did not encounter any memory gobbling bugs or crashes. There are two issues at present: the Trumbles graphic (when you are offered them by the dealer - the new box graphic) isn't showing, and Thargoids are saying unusual things when they die (well, more unusual than what they normally say - i.e. things like just the word "famous"). The incorrect message when equipment is destroyed has been fixed, though.

Re: Oolite Linux release candidate 1.62-1rc1
It strikes me this could happen if either the entry in descriptions.plist for thargoid_curses or the shipdata.plist entry for the thargoid's death_actions became corrupted so they did not match.winston wrote:Thargoids are saying unusual things when they die (well, more unusual than what they normally say - i.e. things like just the word "famous").
It may be worth checking. An OXP with a similar error might also cause this.
I'm having problems updating with rsync:
