Ship equipment disappears in 1.76.1

I've upgraded from 1.75 to 1.76.1 but when I load a 1.75 savegame into 1.76.1 most of my ship equipment disappears eg. docking computers, witchspace fuel injectors. Anyone else had this and know of a solution?

How did you install v1.76.1?

(I was going to say it sounds like it is installed in a different place from 1.75 and so it cannot 'see' the OXPs that you have installed. But you are listing standard equipment - that should not be lost. If it can find your saved games, it should not have any trouble seeing your fitted standard equipment.)

I installed 1.76.1 into a new folder and then copied across my OXPs and savegame file.
I'm guessing I need to copy some other data from my 1.75 folder, but can't imagine what :(

Someone's going to ask you to do it eventually, so let's get it over and done with.

- Please restart the game, holding down <shift> as you do so.
- Load the saved game which has all your purchased bits and bobs.
- Quit Oolite.
- Post the Latest.log file in this thread.

(It might not help, but it'll give you something to do until a clued-up person arrives.)

Before it says :
20:06:49.123 [script.load.world.listAll]: Loaded 14 world scripts:
for the first time I wonder why it does not say:
19:16:57.593 [shipData.load.begin]: Loading ship data.
19:17:02.250 [script.javascript.init]: JavaScript reset successful.
Maybe that's just because I'm running under Linux and you're running under Windows. But the absence of "[shipData.load.begin]: Loading ship data." smells suspicious.

It is reassuring you have:
oolite-cloaking-device 1.76.1
oolite-constrictor-hunt 1.76.1
oolite-nova 1.76.1
oolite-thargoid-plans 1.76.1
oolite-trumbles 1.76.1
anyway.

I'm now going to scuttle off and load Oolite on a Windows PC so I can see what I get, while hoping a more clued-up individual solves your problem in the meantime...

My Latest.log under Windows does contain [shipData.load.begin]: Loading ship data.

Are you flying an oxp ship, or one of the internal ones?

I have the distinct feeling that this has to do with Windows security permissions. I had the same problem a few weeks ago but I can't remember how I solved it.

Please email your saved game to another_commander at oolite dot org. I'll have a look as soon as I can.

Also, which folder is the game installed in? It looks like you installed 1.76.1 without uninstalling 1.75 first, so in theory you should have two versions present on your disk now (note that the kosher way to do it is uninstall the old version first, then install the new one. All OXP and savegame files survive the uninstall). Which folders are they in?

That rings a bell from the Wiki.

Are you running Vista?

It shouldn't be a Vista issue, as I had the same problem upgrading my Oolite from 1.76 to 1.76.1 that half the equipment on my Cobra Mark III disappeared - and I am using Windows XP SP3. I tried several methods of trying to solve this issue, and even created other save games and the problem still persists. As such, I have gone back to using 1.76 as it would appear that 1.76.1 does not work as it should...

I use Win XP Pro SP3 and have never had any problems with the save-game.
Suggest you also email your save-game to another_commander, Pleb.

I have found the same issue. Do you have a Military jammer on your ship?
