The average prices for all goods are known. Could you take average prices, an average amount of goods available in a system, then tie them together with player sales, NPC sales based on system of origin (something that could be scripted or random - I've noticed ships under the effect of RandomNames OXP with names of local-cluster worlds other than the one you're in) and some kind of consumption formula based on economic balance, all of that tied within script(s) that modifies commodities.plist for that individual world every time the player makes a witchspace jump?

Hm, it seems that this thread is somewhat neglected. :P

It would be a pity if this oxp is not completed... :P

The upcoming changes in 1.77 may make the whole concept a lot easier to implement.

I've done a bit of that in my commodities markets OXP for 1.77, but there is a lot more potential there for people who want to bend the markets further. It may be worth waiting a bit until 1.77 is launched and then perhaps re-evaluate what can be done.

A better idea than bumping may be to try and contact Phasted. He hasn't logged in since June 16th.
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

True, but there's only the ability to PM him from here, which would be quite futile, since he's bound to check his oxp thread when he logs in next, thus the PM won't do anything.
I hope he's OK.

If he has it set, a PM will send him an email notification - try it.

Phasted has not received the PM I sent him, it is still in the Outbox...

Given that it's been six months since I sent the PM, is it possible for anyone to adopt this great OXP?

Ioannis - I suggest you take the idea and run with it if you can code it from scratch. If you can't, tough luck.
