Where is everyone?

Post by Ebbo »

OK so I've armed my ship with loads of equipment, got thousands still in the galactic bank and a Dangerous rating with just under 1000 hits, so thought I'd try a few missions to keep it interesting.

so I loaded "random hits" and headed off to the nearest bar "the Fat Feline" to sign up for a mission to eliminate a bandit a few systems away, made my way to said system picking up a few more credits along the way via bounties and cargo. once I arrived I get a message that this is the correct system and off I go a hunting.

well apart from a couple of measley pirates that are soon removed, theres no-one else about, I've flown out into deep space, down as far as I dare to the planet, round and round the sun back to the space station and all over, hours and hours flying around, not a soul about. where are they all? have I missed something as its getting very boring.

if I jump to another system and back again, a couple more pirates appear but thats it, once again alone in space!

any ideas anyone :?: :?:

The random hits target can be found somewhere between the witchpoint and the system station, flying in either direction.

So what you have to do is to select the 'N' beacon on your advanced space compass and fly towards it. I repeat: Do not head towards the planet, but towards the main station.

This information is also contained in the included documentation, in the file Spoilers.rtf. Although a cursory reading may miss it:
Documentation wrote:
On entering the mark system, you get a message confirming you are in the right system and the mark is added. The mark will always patrol the route station - witchpoint. Actions of the mark, like jumping, being killed or attacked by a npc ship are also written to the general log file of Oolite. When nothing is logged, it just means your mark is still patrolling its route.
