Ha, thanks. My English is notoriously bad, so forgive my murdering of other languages!

@Diziet Sma;
Thousands thanks for your help...i did not expect so much information.

60,000-70,000 for a single delivery ? Can't believe it for now, but i will try it out, believe me.
I never heard before of an growing reputation in this "delivery business".

Ok, searching for a fast ship with min 5t cargo space and i'm gone.

Thanks again for all the help!
I'll be back when riding the "WunderWurm"

Ok.. so how does 60,000-70,000 for a single delivery sound? Or 100,000+ for a cross-chart run involving 2-3 drops? :D

You were on the right track there with the passenger-runs idea, although you didn't realise it..

Here's why.

Many, many really fat, juicy cargo and passenger contracts are out there, just waiting to be plucked.. but you don't ever get to see them, because you don't have any reputation in the business. The people with that kind of money to spend on a single delivery or trip aren't going to risk their precious cargo or their even more precious daughter on someone who's an unknown quantity.

So the first thing you need is an excellent reputation.
 While playing the game I never took any cargo or passenger contracts because I always thougt they are not remarkably lucrative and so I became a professional milkrunner. (Yes, only ingame of course.) I did not know about the reputation.
I love deadlines. I like the whooshing sound they make as they fly by.

I've just discovered I messed up the last link in my previous post.. now it points to the correct discussion about contract tips & tricks.. sorry about that!

I'll link it here as well to save everyone going back a page..

I kid you not..Albee listed a couple of his contracts after trying my advice.. here's what he had to say..

I had a nice triple contract going, total value 70k+ (gold to Diquxe alone being worth 46k).

I suppose the safe way with contract hauling is to stick to singles (I've just picked up a 60k platinum run to Inines) but that's not very adventurous, is it?
Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied

Hawk, another way to make a few extra credits (even while also carrying cargo), is as an escort via http://wiki.alioth.net/index.php/Escort_Contracts_OXP

The value you get per trip also goes up depending on your reputation.

I just got my Iron-Ass handed to me, torn and mangled, by a Time Raider as if I had been flying a rusty sidewinder. I didn't even see the S.O.B.
