CTD how do I fix it?

Probably a question asked may times before but how do I stop CTD. It always happens just before I dock or where I have been asteroid mining for about an hour and ping CTD. I have the latest version 1.75.3 and have updated all my oxp to the latest ones. I notice in the log some things don't seem to load properly

Looking at your log, I would guess your shader errors are the culprits. Try upgrading your graphics card drivers?

Hi, I use the Omega Drivers and get the same shader error coming up - it's from YAH, which I don't think is at fault. I don't think it's the drivers either as I had the same error with the official ATI drivers for my card. Blame crappy ATI Graphics cards.

I don't get any crashes though either, or any other shader errors.

What graphics settings are you using? My computer did struggle on full shaders. It wouldn't crash but would often freeze at 100% CPU use when running full shaders. Solved that problem by going to simple shaders. The Eye-candy still looks good it's just some subtle additional effects that are missing.

I did have spoken message, turned them off and it's much better, discovered a new problem now thou space looks crap with ATI drivers all the distant galaxies look like blury squares. Might load up the old drivers again and see if it works with speech off.

Don't download drivers just yet. Download this build instead: http://www.box.net/shared/nz0xzbv3fcnnp1xh4yj1

It contains a fix to the crash bug related to spoken messages, which you seem to be encountering.

Re the blocky starfield with ATI official drivers that can be fixed by altering some hidden Oolite settings.

Go to

and follow the instructions to set "use-texture-lod-bias" = NO; in your .GNUstepDefaults.

I think it's now ok, I installed the version with the fix but now I have played without voice I think it's better anyway. Also graphix are fine again. Thanks for all the help.
