I don't know if this has been mentioned or not. In case it hasn't, I'll mention it now.
How come when I enter a system I see ships sending distress signals when they are asttacked, but I can't do the same. Where's my distress signal?
(The police may or may not get there in time, but it would still be nice to at least have the option...)

Missiles and Bombs has a distress beacon, it calls a horde of vipers to your aid.
By the way, I was thinking about something like this. What if, when a ship is attacked, it sends a beacon that could be piked up on the advanced space compass? Commanders could monitor the compass for distress calls... only the big ships like Boas and Anacondas would have the beacon transmitter.
