Hmm, I think their authors have actually made hand drawn versions of the icon at that size, so a direct resize isn't the best possible comparison... Still, here are 2 more I think are missing from that mix:
(I took 'some' liberties with Seventh's one. It's a variant that was discussed briefly, but never actually made. I do think it's got some merits, though!
)

Dave, your logos are imaginative and pretty cool too.
BUT they're not scaleable, which is IMHO a looong minus for them.

That said, your last logo seems just right as a splash screen!

Here's a 64 x 64 image, I might be able to get it down to 48 x 48 but that would probably be the limit. Oh well, worth a try.
