That's a neat, unique ship, Ross154. I don't think I've seen one quite like it before, and it looks cool. Nice job. When are you going to release it?

jadenrayn ,
Lights on ships are usually done with an emission_map, which is part of the texturing. Flashers, as Mandoman says are sub-entities, so none of these things need javascript (js).
You can manipulate texturing with js, and switch flashers on and off using js and AIs. Without plugging it too obviously my new shipset is quite a good example of this sort of stuff.
If you are intersted in this, the Wiki
how-to is a good place to start...look at the sections on AIs and shipdata.plists. Also the
js section.
My
texture tutorial will tell you a bit about emission_maps, as will the wiki
materials page.

I've decided to ease myself into OXPing by making some new L-crate variants.
My grand plans are that they are 1) easy to see and shoot, 2) come in a variety of sizes, 3) Possibly spawn cargo as they fall apart, 4) are available to players with some strange gun-ship/bomber variants, 5) an HUD with furry dice
Below is a the half detailed variant
The intent is that comanders everywhere want to shoot it on sight......

And that appears to be
before triangulation.

You know, instead of laughing at other people's attempts, maybe you should be offering some helpful solutions to problems you see in their work. I guess when you reach a certain level, that must give you the right to sneer at what others do. Not sure why you even started that Blender tutorial.
