Oopsie. Since I figured the cb68h001_scale_weapontemp1.png was a copy of cb68h001_scale_weapontemp.png, made for testing purposes, I deleted it, but it seems the code is actually referring to it:

Thanks - nice to see the sensitivity indicator back, and that's a much better place for it.
later - one thing I forgot to mention - I can't seem to get nonlinear zooming to work with any HUD in 1.82, I've got it set to yes in hud.plist, is there anything else I need to change? Or is there something I should be doing, e.g. with HUD selector, that I've forgotten?

What I had to do was select the HUD Selector with SHIFT-N and press 'b' (I think) to cycle through the 4 options.

Cannot download this in game, just sticks here:
Cannot see ANYTHING in the Log relating to this.

Works okay here (v1.2.2, I think), though there seems to be two versions (with the same name), one of which is unavailable.
If you can't get it, you could download the
.oxz
direct from the
Wiki and drop it into your
AddOns
folder.

I think CWolf tried to download within the wiki's daily backup (2h30-about 3h30 am CET) then tried again by hand just after the downtime.
The older version is removable imho from the manager by an admin due to the original author is missing and the wiki still contain links to old versions.

Can this HUD be tweaked to have the dials (from Detectors OXP) ExtraLargeHUD has?

Yes, copy all lines start with
in the legends section of hud plist. There are two images also,
detectors_red.png
and
detectors_yellow.png
, nothing to do until [wiki]HUDSelector[/wiki] is installed but for an independent package must place these into the
Images
folder.

Coluber HUD No.1 v1.2.3 is available on the Expansion Manager and
here.
Changes:
- Added ASC Target distance display
