Re no. 4, I vaguely remember seeing a film at an SF convention which had weapons grown biologically out of bone and other materials, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was. Something like that?
yes it is a weapon but also used as a tool by its deadly user....

Long running scifi tv show that noone knows from about the same time as farsacape strikes me as being lexx.

It also strikes me as the kind of show that would have dead characters.

Cmdr James has it..
LEXX 1997 to 2002 4 seasons
The crew consists of the captain of the Lexx, Stanley H. Tweedle; the love slave Zev/Xev Bellringer; the undead former assassin Kai, last of the Brunnen-G; and the love-crazed robot head 790.

The picture was Kai's weapon

I saw Lexx but I'm damned if I can remember this weapon. Never mind, can't win them all.

No wonder there was no tinkle - you should have used a zombie!

So, inspired by the facehugger comment.... Id like to know 3, because at the moment I can only think of 3 myself, aliens/monsters/scifi whatever types of life that use other species to reproduce. We already had the aliens franchise, and Im not looking for vague startrek style every humanoid is somehow genetically compatible but rather species that require or commonly use "foreign" genetic material. Like the aliens in alien.

Star trek TNG, identity crisis, it is a parasite that is using humanoid genetic material.
