Re no. 4, I vaguely remember seeing a film at an SF convention which had weapons grown biologically out of bone and other materials, but for the life of me I can't remember what it was. Something like that?
yes it is a weapon but also used as a tool by its deadly user....
never.... though i have read a lot of zombie stories...lol
it is definitle sci fi. the owner is both dead and deadly so there were two clues there...
it was a TV series with many seasons, just not near double figures..lol
the characters seem to spend most of their time in space
Arthur: OK. Leave this to me. I'm British. I know how to queue.
OR i could go with
Arthur Dent: I always said there was something fundamentally wrong with the universe.

Cmdr James has it..
LEXX 1997 to 2002 4 seasons
The crew consists of the captain of the Lexx, Stanley H. Tweedle; the love slave Zev/Xev Bellringer; the undead former assassin Kai, last of the Brunnen-G; and the love-crazed robot head 790.
The picture was Kai's weapon

I saw Lexx but I'm damned if I can remember this weapon. Never mind, can't win them all.
its on a long retractable wire, he used it to kill or as a grapple...

So, inspired by the facehugger comment.... Id like to know 3, because at the moment I can only think of 3 myself, aliens/monsters/scifi whatever types of life that use other species to reproduce. We already had the aliens franchise, and Im not looking for vague startrek style every humanoid is somehow genetically compatible but rather species that require or commonly use "foreign" genetic material. Like the aliens in alien.
