I played Elite on Spectrum or Oric for the first time. Probably around 84.
Oups I forgot...
This is a lognormal distribution curve, the curve is assymetric because of a funny fact called death.

My wife is complaining about Oolite. I gave the virus to my daughter.
However my young mistress is complaining too. I think Elite/Oolite is mainly a man-story.

How so? Yes, Elite revolves around the life and exploits of Commander Peter Jameson, but since Jameson's first name is never used it could be Petra Jameson. As for Oolite, it's got no central character other than the player.

Oolite is His-story...haha...yes I went there...so pun-ish me...yea...I'm horrible...not to mention I totally stole that joke from the cartoon/history show Hysteria...it's like historically accurate animaniacs...
Is there anything more enjoyable than watching a hOOpy casino collide with an open wormhole and get transported to a poor lawless system

Hi there. New to Oolite, played Elite a long time ago.

I agree with whoever said there should be a 60+ choice...

WoH.

As far as I know I was second oldest at 57 by a couple of years, so by my simple reckoning you must be the grandaddy.

39. Woohoo! A forum where I don't feel I should be saying things like "Of course, in my day, the Internet was in black and white, and it was only on for three hours a day. We used to put on our Sunday Best just to log on", etc. (humour (c) Armando Iannucci: look for "Hello Hugh!" on YouTube)

28. Got Elite relatively late as part of the Supreme Challenge compilation on the Speccy, so I didn't have that wonderful lenslok copy protection I've read so much about.

I later had an Atari ST and while I did have a old copied version of Elite it wasn't cracked at all and so I could only actually play the thing if it asked for the one word I knew from the manual - this being before the days when you could look up anything on the internet. Then Frontier came along and even though it didn't do everything brilliantly it was still pretty impressive.

Never made Elite on any of the previous versions, but I'm deadly in one of my Oolite savegames so maybe this time...
