This... the mis-jump sequence is pretty damn cool too!
I would advise stilts for the quagmires, and camels for the snowy hills
And any survivors, their debts I will certainly pay. There's always a way!

And a static shot really doesn't do it justice - nice one there Svengali, as ever.

Too right... you gotta see the whole sequence!

oh my word! That new jump sequence effect is absolutely amazing!
edit: Do you think with the new visual effects stuff it might be possible to place some sort of temporary 'frontier-ish' witchspace exit cloud behind the player ship when they arrive in the new system?

I'd be happy with a bluish globe (a proper 3-dimensional globe) with sparkly bits/lightning strikes all over it.

Yes, it'd be quite simple (although it would be a "fake" and not usable for jumping, unless things got a bit scripty).

If I get time I'll knock something together and share with you so you can perhaps work some shader magic on it.

You get the full jump sequence when hitching a lift now too - cool!

I love it when you mis-jump into interstellar space and the Thargoids are already shooting at you before you have exited witchspace. Makes it more believable that the Thargoids are waiting for you within witchspace. :D

Not quite a screenshot, but a video clip of the jumps (normal and misjump) can be found here on my youTube channel.

Does it slightly more justice than a screenshot, but not ideal as my machine ain't that powerful...

In a couple of my crazy tests, I've started a jump with nothing around, had Thargoids attack my ship during the wormhole break pattern animation sequence, then emerged from witchspace at a regular system with no Thargoids in-system.
