Well, I used to watch it (and enjoy it) here in the UK. It's a good bit of fun if you can find it anywhere.

Right book, wrong death, but I think it's close enough. Towards the end of the book Professor Moriarty is shot by Picasso, and the last words are Moriartys. The evil plot behind it all is an attempt to find a cure for the common cold, allowing the Martians to invade again.
