The coffee just lets me see in simulated near-IR...
We didn't buy the Quadro Plex we just borrowed it from Nvidia for a research project - it was £8K and my budget was smaller than that! But it is a stonkingly good piece of Hardware.
The only problem with running 2 monitors in forward view is that the join line is exactly where you would want to aim.

Just resurrecting this thread to remark that this has been my setup for several months now, and although it does take some getting used to, combat is not really any harder with the split down the middle, than it is on a single screen.

Anyone got 4 or more monitors and the machines to drive them to play with? I'm going to see if I can have a go with a couple of machines at this one day. It's the monitors and arrangement that could be a hassle.
Rocks allows you to run 1, 2 or 4 monitors of a single machine and then you can arrange the displays any way you like.
I was tempted to try it with the 8 identical machines I originally had at work setup as a cluster.
I think what would be easier is if you used a laptop as a lower display and a monitor above it, thus rendering the scanner on the lappy display and the main game on the external display.
all the extreme examples of main 3d view spread out over multiple monitors aside, an interface to pass game variables on to another app, or even another machine via LAN, isn't a bad idea.
what's really needed is shield/energy and weapons status, and maybe in-system position and the position of the scanner blibs. it only needs to be sent when there's changes, so it shouldn't take too much out of the game. esp when the game itself doesn't need to render the data itself anymore.
that could be used, for example, to have the panel right there, with the 3d view going to a big screen or even beamer.
(So, yes, to answer your question, erm... what was your question again?)
If you feel like having a play with Rocks Vis roll and running OOlite on it, I think you would be doing the entire OOlite community a gigantic favour.
I've seen a demo of Paraview running on a VIS display of 18 x 22" monitors.
As for sending the current info my a network link, as mentioned earlier, seeing as the debug console is just on a TCP/IP link, could you not simply connect with a bespoke program. I'm almost tempted to try it with a trial version of LabView.
