I am still getting emails from folks saying they either stumbled across oolite having found my books and then downloaded the game or vice versa. Most are 'oldtimer' Elite players based on the emails, so we definitely haven't found all the 'Lost Commanders' yet - but there are quite a few 'newbies' (translate = people not playing/not born in the 80s! )
Is it my impression, or are we seeing quite a lot of new people, lately?
Maybe the holiday season, people have some spare time on their hands, start surfing around for old memories, find Elite on Wikipedia, then see Oolite exists...
A teaching colleague let me know about Oolite in Dec 2010, and while it do not work for me at first,
as soon as I got a new GFX card for my ancient PC, it worked a dream and my old Elite addiction
came flooding back - Been happily flying and trying out OXPs since! And so have my friends!:D
