Just on the "unfair advantage" front for analogue joysticks, my dad's BBC has a pair of analogue sticks which worked entirely fine with original disk elite.

My old man was similarly munificent. It came as quite a shock when I tried Elite on a friend's Spectrum and had to adapt to the relative lack of precise control.

Well I finally got the time last night to setup ConrollerMate with the Dual Action.

At first I setup a virtual mouse and calibrated the joysticks. However when launched there appears to be no dampers on the roll and pitch if you use the mouse (IIRC there used to be a key for this in the original Elite, I couldn't find it in the docs).

I therefore have setup the joystick using the range calculator combined with a keypress (emulating the arrow keys) and all seems to be working fine. Theres more than enough buttons for all inflight buttons which I've setup accross the board on my PC's and Mac.

Hi guys,

it's still early stages but I'd appreciate feedback on my gamepad support patch which should work with a joystick as well.

Cheers,
