Mine worked out-of-the-box with Vista.
The Saitek's are nice for the price. I settled on the CH after reading about reliability problems with the Sai's, however. I'm sure some folks here have had positive experiences with them. One of my co-workers loaned me one, and it was fair. I just tend to operate under the principle of "Buy it once, buy it right." YMMV.

any experience on the mac? i want to use it on the mac, that's why i posted this in the mac forum.Cmd. Cheyd wrote:Mine worked out-of-the-box with Vista.
I got that saitek stick, and i can't get it to work right. i put oolite in mouse control mode (why do I HAVE to be in fullscreen mode to do that???) and if i set move cursor to absolute in USBoverdrive, the pitch and roll indicators won't stay in the middle or anywhere else except the ends. if i set it to relative, oolite responds more or less the way i want, but faaaaar too slow to be useful
is there anything i can do about that?
BTW, I got the saitek because the CH fighterstick was £150, that's almost FOUR times the price of the saitek. anyone using the fighterstick (or any other CH stick) with oolite under OSX? i don't want to spend that much money if i don't know it's gonna work...
Mainly because in windowed mode you'd keep getting the mouse cursor in front of oolite itself, which can be a distraction (like having a fly in your field of vision) - in fullscreen the mouse cursor is hidden, so there's no cursor flitting about when you're steering the ship...harry747 wrote:why do I HAVE to be in fullscreen mode to do that???

There’s also the issue of what to do if you click outside the window. A common solution is to hide the pointer and hijack mouse movements, but Giles didn’t like that approach.
