Hi Zygo,
I've found a weird problem with v1.3.
It seems to cause station textures (including dock textures) to wash out to a drab grey. Ships don't seem to be affected, just stations including at least some OXP ones as far as I can tell with limited testing. I actually noticed this first while updating Giant Space Pizza to include the new BGS docking tunnel effect - the visitor centre was all drab grey with no dock graphics, and when I checked the main stations (retextured by Accessories OXP), they were the same.
Removing v1.3 solved the problem, and re-installing v1.1.9 (the previous version I was using) did not cause the problem, so it seems to be specific to v1.3. There is nothing relevant in the log.

Very odd, I can only guess this is to do with the nebulas now being in colour, are your drivers up to date? In a few days when I've got time I'll upload a B&W version for you to try, we'll see if that does it

I can confirm the stations look a little washed with the OXP, but it doesn't detract from the general experience that much. This is fantastic work, grabbing the asteroids tomorrow.

After having nebulae completely disabled for ages, I installed this OXP a few weeks ago - nice. I'm not seeing any of the aforementioned 'washed-out' effect on stations (with Griff's or 1.79's native). I have changed the sky_rgb_colors
and upped the ambient_level
a little, though (I'll probably lower the nebulae probability
too).

Hi Commanders!
Zygo Cinematic Sky & Nebulas now available through OXP Manager.
Cheers,

Thankyou vsfc.
Another old favourite

Just a heads-up: I installed ZCSN again tonight, and it hammered my system - fps was down to single figures, if not frozen.
It's a clash with my planetinfo.plist
(the sky was full of stars), but it's worth noting that it can hit the gfx card hard.

I think it worth making this OXP compatible with OXPConfig to allow to adjust number of stars.

<nods> Have an option to reduce the incidence of nebulae too, perhaps - it's too much for me personally.

Anyone know an easy way for a dumb pilot to do this - reduce the incidence?

Here are some settings in
Config/planetinfo.plist of the OXP that lower the presence of the nebulae:
Code: Select all
// "sky_blur_cluster_chance" = "0.87";
"sky_blur_cluster_chance" = "0.67";
// "sky_n_blurs" = "100";
"sky_n_blurs" = "20";
NB: Commented with // are the values coming out-of-the-box with 1.3 version of the OXP.

If only it was that simple, but having tried that method once again, I still get nebulae in every system I pass through.
Never mind, I've uninstalled the OXP - again. Too much corona stuff also - too much tinkering required.

Oh, so you wanted to be able to have systems without any nebulae.
I guess you can blame this on the "official" Resources/Config/planetinfo.plist, which seems to be quite generous in this matter. Maybe if you commented out the sky_n_blurs
for couple of systems in there, you'd be able to confirm if this is the case or not.

Here you go... my
favourite nebula! I use it as my splashscreen (with additions).
