At that stage of the OXP I'm testing, my two wingmen follow every move I make... even into a barrel-roll.

How do you do that? Can we script wingmen of various roles? With something like that it would be a great help for movie making...

Out of interest do you know how the code avoids them mass-locking you....? I saw earlier all three were at Torus speed?

The usual trick (at least mine) is to make them scanClass ROCK or CARGO, and then override their lollipop colours back to something that appears to be a normal ship.

Yes you can script any sort of wingman. Actually the following pictures show how they get into formation.

And also those are from a WIP space aerobatics OXP.

Wish I could hire a horde of four wingmen that would actually keep up with my fuel injectors. Very helpful on some hits, those boys.

If you can make do with two, then download Hired Guns OXP...

I've got that. They don't keep up with my fuel injectors.

They do, just a little off-scanner for safety reasons (on both the injectors and the torus drive). Give them a few seconds after you slow down and they'll reappear and get back into formation.

A fun move you might try with hired guns is to injector a bit past the target and then come back to it. If you time it right, just after you engage the target, your boys/girls will cruise up right behind them.

Incredible!! I didn't know that was possible, but it would be one of you that figured it out, for sure. I'll have to give that hired guns oxp a try, though can I hire two Merlins to flank me? :)
