PM Griff - he's a superstar for helping shader noobs - plus I think there's some explanations in the shader thread...
I suppose i could just make several "like_ship" entries with a different

Code: Select all

diffuse = "0.5 0.5 0.5";
but that would take forever and alot of lines of code...

If only

Code: Select all

diffuse = "random";
worked...

So i finally got my Eagles ready to play, load it up...
and disaster, my ship is invisible... or so I thought:

See that tiny little spec in the distance? It's not in the distance... that's its actual size :P I forget to check the scale before exporting it :P

Easily fixed, but made me laugh.

<UPDATE>

Finally got them in game, just a few more tweaks to go on it and i'll release it.

The Mark IV JUST fits in to a docking bay, its a tight fit though.

Just got to move on the logo...

(are there any plans to pick a winner for the logo comp, ever, or at least soon?)

Since the official rules permit entries until we’re ready for the next stable release, one might deduce that it will be some time around then. (In practical terms, a little before we start making release candidate builds.)

Well not a screenshot but a video:

View the Famous Planets Promo Video on Youtube

I made a promo video of the WIP Famous Planets 2.0. Worlds of Galaxy 2.0.OXP with custom music!

Enjoy. Also a great showcase of some Griff Objects. Make sure you view it in HQ.

I'm thinking of redoing the UV map for that and maybe slightly altering the model a bit, as there's a small texture overlap on the bottom of the ship, and a rather largish portion of the png image isn't even used.

Most games have some sort of paddling-pool-and-water-wings beginning to ease you in: Oolite takes the rather more Darwinian approach of heaving you straight into the ocean, often with a brick or two in your pockets for luck. ~ Disembodied
