agree. While it almost gets too long in the tooth in the end, wow, what a ride these novels. Very depressing and uplifiting at times. It has aged rather well.

The Rama-game, you can still play it as an emulation (originally it came on an Apple II, I didn't have money for such a fancy machine at the time, but remember reading the reviews... And really longing to play it, siiiiiigh.

I played Rama in a windows 98 pc, a long time ago... I don't know if there is an emulator to run it in linux ubuntu.. It would be nice to re-play it. :)

It's a shame Steven Spielberg's Close Encounters of the Third Kind started out as a film, otherwise that would fit.

That was the first thing I thought of and did a little looking to see if it was novelised. But didn't find that to be the case! :wink:
