Ta - the hermit is one I've been struggling with for a while and the other night I woke up with it all laid out in my head just as you see it.
Though - after finishing it, I saw MI1 again and was struck by the tunnel scenes and thought "damn: verticle lights works better!"

SB-Navy.oxp

... adds one large carrier (the big triangular one from before) with a naming scheme based on Norse Gods or other godlike beings.
I added this ages ago but haven't seen any in game yet...Simon, is there another oxp I need to disable in order for these to appear (Galactic Navy, ADCK's Behemoths ?)

have no idea ... it should be OK with all the others. It uses the same scripts as the behemoth.oxp but changes the names... so you should see them about where you'd normally have seen behemoths. It is possible there is something blocking them being created... but troubleshooting these scripts is tricky. Part of why I released it with only one ship was to see if anyone would pick up these sorts of mistakes and tell me what Id done wrong.

Coming back ... I noticed the whasp earlier is wrong... so I'll add it to the waka ships in a bit.
Need to tidy up - where should I be concentrating?
Anybody worked out why the carrier is not appearing?

I have actually seen a few since my last post, the first at Aquilona when I was doing the mission. Always on their own though, never at Naval bases, during GalNavy sorties or in the battles in witchspace or anywhere we have lots of ADCK's Behemoths, where you might expect to see loads of them.
(BTW I always meant to ask you about the Hiriwa-Manu....it looks great but was it meant to be so slow?)

Hiriwa Manu ... silver flyer - is a shuttle so yes, it is supposed to be so slow.
You won't see my carrier called by other oxps ... since I have not given it the right roles.

Save it as the diffuse map.
Tell the materials to use the rgba diffuse map as both the diffuse and the specular map, tell it to use the glowmap as emmission_map. That;s all I actually did. If you look in the textures folder of the OXPs you'll find some of the workflow (included because these are test OXPs and I want people to be able to fiddle about.)
Thanks for this tutorial Simon. My version of GIMP works a bit different or maybe being a newby with it hindered me. I was not able to drag and drop but copy and paste as new layer worked. Then I learned I needed to have the alpha layer selected and used the anchor command to merge the floating selection to it. The result is the same. Now I know why Griff's diffuse maps look the way they do.

You can drag layers from the layers dialog to a canvas window. You can't drag from canvas to canvas.
If you don't have the correct layer selected for copy and paste, just click the new-layer button at the bottom of the layers dialog and the floating selection becomes a new layer. You can move that to where you can merge it down.
I've found you can add a greyscale layer to an rgba layer as a layer mask ... it's less obvious what you are doing, but faster.
Glad to be useful

Are you going to make the Oolite related content available somewhere else?

I was just looking at picking up the older Neolite stuff and giving it a try...

You'll find dropbox still works.
IIRC: someone was keeping the major collections.
This would be a good time for the wiki to get updated with the new locations.
Let me know if there are some sets missing.

As far as I have been able to find so far your most recent work is available on box.com
here:
Your Neolite sets were hosted on your page, but I did find a reference to them also being hosted by Cdr. Cheyd on his Deep Horizons page. However I have been unable to find a link to them both here on the forum or on his page. They probably need re-hosting somewhere. The largest file is just over 30MB, so the 15MB limit on BOX.com will be an issue.
Most of your OXP's have a CC BY-NC-SA licence, but quite a few have no licence enclosed. Can we assume that they go by the same license. If someone were to re-host the files, that would matter.
The files that are unavailable are:
[wiki]Croydon Starsoarer[/wiki]
Neolite Core v1.0
Neolite Companion v1.0
Neolite Wolfies v1.0
In addition to this there are quite a few other (WIP included) OXP's that I have been unable to find links to:
arachnid.oxp.tar.gz
galcop.oxp.tar.gz
neolite-navy.oxp.zip
wtyphoon.oxp.tar.gz
wakatoro0109.oxp.tar.gz
Yaw_neolite.zip Link available here:
Your Ad Here!. Right at the bottom of the page.
I have probably missed a few, and some of these are most likely redundant/replaced by newer releases.
I have all the files, but no hosting facilities unfortunately.

A link is at the bottom of the... who guessed... the
