Nice new avatar. Are you sure it wasn't bird-flu?DaddyHoggy wrote:I couldn[t find my old avatar (on this machine (or photobucket)) so I too have had a fresh start to 2011 (gives me something to do while recovering from suspected Swine Flu - glad I had the vaccine last year... )

It's DH's new avatar... definitely a raptor.Ahruman wrote:DaddyHoggy swooped in on it with alacrity
Erm, yeh well, what happened was...Ahruman wrote:Yup.Griff wrote:Edit: the new forum looks very posh, is the report this post button is going to make life easier for the spam assassins?
I had to search to find the report for a test post I did a test with to test it, but DaddyHoggy swooped in on it with alacrity, so possibly it was more visible to him (as a moderator) than it was to me (as an admin). Anyway, for moderators and admins, reports are under Moderator Control Panel at the top(ish) right on the main index page.
Are you saying that the flu jab didn’t work for you, DH? The medics are always nagging me to have the jab, and after the rotten bout of flu I’ve had this winter, I’m tempted.DaddyHoggy wrote:gives me something to do while recovering from suspected Swine Flu - glad I had the vaccine last year...
It's helping in the sense that I'm not (literally) dying (same goes for my wife, who had the jab this year and still got the bug and while she's really not very well (lots of underlying health problems) she's not in hospital on life-support, which is the way lots of Asthmatics (or people prone to pneumonia like me) are ending up here in the UK...El Viejo wrote:Are you saying that the flu jab didn’t work for you, DH? I was told it better than halves your chance of getting it and if you do makes a massive difference to how ill you feel/get (which I'm glad off because I feel pretty rough!)El Viejo wrote:Ah… so the jab lessens the illness somewhat... that's good. I came close to going to hospital myself just before winterfest… I’m in what they call a ‘vulnerable group’.
