Working on a non lights baked in version. Removed the lights on the Chameleon. Looks indeed better now.

After all the complaints about baked in lights I cleaned all the textures.
Now I can send them to ADCK for Shaders. I sense a new version coming up.

BTW Monitor 2 is reworked. Check the Baumresearch Turbo-vents on top of it.

As a bonus I added The Monitor 2. A modernized version of the Monitor Classic. With a little more speed, pitch and roll.
Have also created a ship page for the Monitor 2. Can you confirm that all you changed from the original Monitor was the speed, pitch and roll?

I copied the ship data table from the original Monitor, however some of the stats are "Unknown"...?

Yes,

confirm. Still thinking a bout some other fine tuning. Maybe speed up to .23 LM at the expense of 5 t cargo space. and a passenger berth as a standard?

Searching information on the oldships is not easy. I can't find how to run elite-a with an emulator. I wanted to do that to just see whats in the ship encyclopedia because I want the descriptions on the Wiki pages to be as 'realistic as possible'. Comparing the WIKI from Elite Classic I found out that the in service date for the Monitor is 3112. That makes it a new ship. If you compare this with a Fer de Lance (in service date 3100 and much newer than a Pytjon (in service 2700) and a BOA (3017)

Question then remains. Why would Zorgon Petterson design a pretty slow hauler in 3112 when the older Phyton an BOA had better specs?

Anyone has a nice background story on this? I myself therefore came with a Monitor 2. Which is more modern.

Why do car manufactures design cars with smaller engines, more box-like and strange specs. Cost and government regulation are probably the two main reasons. Other reasons could be access to raw materials.

:P

Currently done the Bushmaster, Cat and 2 Chameleon textures, at the current rate am doing about one ship a day.

My current fav is the chameleon, I went a bit overboard on that texture, probably the best texture I've ever worked on.

<EDIT> scrapped one of the chameleon textures, looked too similar to the other.

Uploading PAG oldships V2.0 as I type this, am only sending the link to PAGroove for now, as it's his project and I'd prefer him to either say the following before release:

"Good Work" and give me a pat on the head.
OR
"Bad ADCK... very bad!" at which point I'll go cry in a corner and set fire to an orphanage.

Version 2.0 is the shader version, at a whopping 70 Mb it contains:
Altered "cleaned" textures that have little graphical baddies removed.
Detail added to the textures.
-(some are almost unrecognisable from PAG's)
Baked-in lights completely removed.
A new Ghavial alt texture.
Normal/Illumination maps added.
-(I took the lights out so I could put them back in :P )
Models altered to use new UV Maps.
Ship entries altered to remove conflicts.
